Stuttgart to Bangkok: A Tailoring Odyssey
Witness the evolution of Der Herr as it transitioned from the charming streets of Stuttgart to the vibrant landscape of Bangkok. Sir Roger’s strategic move to relocate the flagship store to Thailand, particularly Bangkok, was driven by a mission to cater to American Generals and Colonels deployed during WW2. The iconic Grace Hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 3 became the birthplace of Der Herr’s first flagship store
Global Recognition: Trunk Shows and Beyond
Explore Der Herr’s global footprint that transcended borders. Post-war, our clientele expanded not only locally but internationally, earning recognition for our unparalleled service, exquisite fabric choices, and swift turnaround times. In the mid-90s, Der Herr embarked on its first overseas Trunk Show to Germany and Switzerland, eventually gaining recognition and expanding its visits to several other countries in Europe, United States and the United Kingdom.
Evolution and Modernization: The Transition to Sukhumvit Soi 8
In 2011, after over 40 successful years at Grace Hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 3, Sir Roger made the strategic decision to propel Der Herr into the future. The showroom transformed into a stand-alone flagship store in Sukhumvit Soi 8, marking a pivotal moment in Der Herr’s evolution. Steve, Roger’s son, with 25+ years of tailoring expertise, proudly took the reins, steering the legacy toward modernization.
Continuing the Legacy: A Third-Generation Journey
Meet Karan, Roger’s grandson, who joined Der Herr as the torchbearer of the third generation. With a profound passion for styling, designing, and fashion, Karan brings a dynamic touch to our style consultancy.
